“JOURNEY TO MARS” 60 x 120
Now a permanent feature in the main lobby of a brand new Hilton Garden Inn opening in just a few weeks located in Cape Canaveral, right across from Space Force launch sites. We literally watched a Falcon 9 Rocket launch carrying satellites into space for Amazon as we approached early this morning. This launch just so happened to mark the 100th SpaceX mission of 2025.
After months of connecting logistical dots from Asheville, North Carolina to Tampa, Florida, this 50 square foot recycled computer key mosaic took 300 hours and 11,139 keys to complete.

Florida’s Role in Space Exploration
Florida has been a launchpad for American space efforts for decades. NASA’s
Kennedy Space Center (KSC), established in the early 1960s, was home to the
Apollo missions and the Space Shuttle era, making the Space Coast a focal point
of innovation.
In 2014, SpaceX leased the historic Launch Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center,
ushering in a new era of private-public space collaboration. Their presence has
revitalized the region—boosting the economy, creating jobs, and inspiring science,
technology, engineering and mathematics programs across local communities.
Florida continues to be at the forefront of space exploration, with a legacy shaped
by NASA and propelled into the future by SpaceX.
