DUTY HONOR COUNTRY is constructed from thousands of discarded computer keys—objects once used for communication, now reassembled into a timeless symbol of sacrifice.
The American flag and the word “HONOR” emerge not through paint or print, but through individual pieces of a digital past, each key a fragment of voice, memory, and service.
Embedded within the work is a hidden word-search of historical quotations, inviting viewers to slow down, look closer, and reflect on the meaning behind the word itself.
This piece honors those whose service defined our freedom and reminds us that true honor is earned, not given.
A
soldier’s honor is his life.
-Dwight
D. Eisenhower
It
is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should
thank God that such men lived.
-George
S. Patton
The
honor of the Navy is in the hands of its men.
-Chester
W. Nimitz
Duty,
honor, country—those three hallowed words.
-Douglas
MacArthur
Courage
earned honor. Sacrifice defined it.
Freedom
was bought with honor.
Honor
is the legacy of sacrifice.
We
remember. That is honor.
Earned,
not given.
Service
before self.
